I missed the whole game yesterday! My homework took a lot longer than I had anticipated…so much reading and then required website video viewing and then several hours of research and writing…by the time I gave up on it the game was long past. I checked on-line to find out who won and to see the highlights and was treated to reports of M.I.A.’s famous gesture. Why do they show that sort of thing over and over and neglect other more important parts of the game? I’m sad because I missed all the commercials, too. Those I can see on-line at some other time, so at lease I won’t have missed out on all of the fun!
More homework today…probably another six or seven hours. Have to watch an assigned video and then write about what I see and feel and think, etc. I really do enjoy the work, just complain about the long hours I spend on it. My daughter tells me I don’t need to read every single word or watch every last minute of the assigned videos. I do, though! I need to read it all and watch it all. Being able to go back to complete my degree means so much to me. I want to live every minute of the process. This is my final year of work toward my BA. I’ll be moving directly into working toward my MA, but it’ll require a lot more serious study. I’m hoping I can have as much fun on it as I’ve had for the past three years.
News today seems to be either about the Big Game or about M.I.A. As far as I’m concerned there is nothing worth further comment! Some days there is just nothing interesting on CNN.
However, not all is glum and gloomy around here. For those of you who love words as much as I do…and that is a lot!…this site is a real kick. (www.punoftheday.com) It’s just simple drivel, but I enjoy the better ones. Here are some examples in the category of puns about education:
To write with a broken pencil is pointless.
A rule of grammar: double negatives are a no-no.
I’m bad at math so the equation 2n + 2n is 4n to me.
OK, OK, I know, I know….but they are fun…so enjoy!
Wishing you all a “punny” day…
