Spring Cleaning!

It’s quite like Spring today….at least here in the house with the sun shining in.  Outside the wind is gusting practically enough to blow you off your feet! A good day to be busy inside…and going through all the stuff that has accumulated over the winter months.

We didn’t feel the earthquake here which is strange because it was felt up in Oregon, but not in points too far south of the epicenter.  I’m glad because an earthquake that was of that severity and lasted as long as it did would have ruined me for the entire day.

I’m taking a quick break and writing–this is my excuse that I’m still doing something.  I make excuses to myself all the time and have gotten quite good at it. 🙂

Thoughts today are once again fragmented…my mind is a vessel and it seems to hold bits and pieces of a lot of different things. My memory used to be better, but age is catching up with me this year and for the first time I look in the mirror and see who I am today, not the me who used to be.  Does that mean I’m really getting old, or does it mean that I’m maturing? Either way, it’s discouraging because I know that you can never go back. You just move forward toward whatever awaits you. I guess I could be more positive about it and consider it a challenge!

If any of you wonder why I talk about the news of the day, it’s because my son always had the news memorized (he had an eidetic memory) and would tell me about it while I fixed dinner.  I have always been a news-aholic, so I keep up the practice of checking the news every day even though Scott is no longer here to discuss it with.  That’s where you come in…when  you read my blog!

News today was pretty good for a change.  No hostile activity in the Strait of Hormuz and our sailors continue to stay prepared for anything. An Iditarod sled dog who had been missing for a week was reunited with his owner this morning after being found in a massive dog-hunt (pun intended)  over the past week. He was in good shape and delighted to see his owner…of course it was mutual!  Aaannd….there was a story about a young woman named Melinda Munez. Melinda is a leukemia survivor.  She and her long-time significant other were first married in her hospital room while Melinda lay facing imminent death.  An experimental process called a half-match transplant was done and Melinda today is as she was before her illness.  She and her husband were married again…this time with the white dress, a limo, professional photographer, the works–most of it donated by folks who care about what she has gone through and overcome.  Such an uplifting article!!  It made my day.  May they both be blessed with love and long life.

For fun, I’ll leave you with an address that is ‘totally cool.’

That seems to bring me to a close…finally. I did wander on a bit, but that’s because “Suzysomething Thinks Out Loud”!

Happy Wednesday!
